COMMUNICATION BRINGS STANDARDISATION TO THE POINT
STARTING POINT
Siemens is one of the world’s leading solution providers for Industry 4.0 and drives standardization in automation with its Digital Industries (DI) division. However, the goals of Industry 4.0 can only be achieved if machine builders and users can rely on open, common, and, if possible, global technical standards. Therefore, one of Siemens DI’s guiding conceptual themes is to promote standardization in automation – and to actively communicate the progress that has been made. A communication strategy was needed to generate interest and inform people about solutions and benefits.
IDEA
When you break down all the benefits, one thing remains: standardization makes complex automation easier. Good. Then let’s say it as it is – with a simple message: “Simplify complexity.” And we show it in the key visual by simplifying a composite of very different lines into one strand. Everything fits together. Just like standardized interfaces.
RESULT
In a series of social media posts, Siemens communicated the urgency of the issue to its network – and offered concrete support for implementation. The communication focused on five standardization topics. They were also the focus of the landing page. In addition, ambassadors and sales were provided with talking points and presentations for customer meetings and trade shows. Here, visitors were attracted by our interactive standardization quiz.
