TEACHING TRAMS TO DRIVE
STARTING POINT
When it comes to urban mobility everyone’s talking about cars and buses as autonomous vehicles. In a world’s first, Siemens is bringing self-driving trams into the picture.
This world debut was celebrated at the largest trade show for transportation technology: the Innotrans 2018 in Berlin.
DYADIC was entrusted with ensuring the perfect staging of the highly complex sensory technology at the launch.
SOLUTION
With “Teaching trams to drive,” DYADIC tells the story of how trams “see” and “learn.”
An exhibit mirroring the test track in Potsdam allowed visitors to explore the most important sensory technologies involved – lidar and radar – via augmented reality. They could also take their fascination home, thanks to a smartphone app that acts like lidar.
RESULT
The staging at the trade show was a highlight that attracted great media interest, not just at the show but also internationally.
The triad of structural, cinematic, and augmented-reality staging was exactly the right mix to make our invisible technologies tangible, touchable, and visible. They were strategically displayed in just the right light, yet the staging was playful and highly relevant for our customers and the digital mobility of the future.”
